Over the past few years we have seen some rapid changes in society and cultural norms. Specifically, I am referring to the increase in technological advancements and how it impacts most humans everyday lives. It is obvious to me that technology is here to stay whether we like it or not. With tech companies becoming some of the largest in the business industry, to nearly every American carrying a smartphone in their pocket, I just don’t see a way around it.
Human vs Technology
Along with the increase in tech advancements I have also noticed some common trends in human nature. People have become addicted, nay dependent on technology. It’s almost as if we can not have a normal life without it. People have also become dumb and lost track of common sense. People are more likely to believe a brief caption or text from a social media post than listen to the values their parents instilled in them from birth. This is what I would call a disconnect from human nature.
AI
Furthermore, we have seen a rise in a new type of technology in the form of AI. AI stands for Artificial intelligence and it could possibly be the biggest technological advancement to date. With engineered systems such as chatgpt, gamma, and basic media chat bots we are starting to see a real integration between humans and machine. These AI systems are extremely smart and quickly adapting to become better by the minute. It is obvious that in little to no time at all AI technology could be the main source of intelligence for all things human.
This is for Me
Personally, I have already began to see people using AI systems to short cut in work, school, and even relationships. At what point does it become to much may I ask? At what point will there be no human nature at all and everything we do will be based of AI’s response to our once simple questions. This is why I started this website, this is why is started this blog. Not because I think I will solely combat AI and save the human race but because I hone in basic skills of creativity and literature. Skills I believe could be lost in future generations. Skills I believe could become valuable due to their scarcity.
Discretion
I am not great, hell not even good at these two skills mentioned above but I do believe with time and practice I may be able to become decent enough to entertain. In other words, I am doing this for me. To learn and grow as an individual. I do not want to lose touch with nature and I do not want to lose touch with myself. Nothing on this website will be generated by AI, it will all be human.
