Project Warrior
What i'm Doing
On July 29th, I will be taking on the hardest challenge of my life. Running 100 miles on foot. I have never done anything like this before. I haven’t even ran a marathon. I can not promise that I will finish this race but I can guarantee this, I will push my self harder than ever before to try. I want my suffering to amount to something greater than myself. I want to run for a cause.
This is why I have decided to start a project. I have teamed up with an organization called Warriors and Quiet Waters, a group out of Montana who guide post 9/11 combat veterans, and their loved ones to thrive and find peace, meaning and purpose through fly fishing, archery hunting, and other inspirational activities in the outdoors.
Our veterans have sacrificed so much for us to live freely often their greatest gift that we as civilians take for granted. Giving back to them in this way is the least I can do. The sacrifices I will make and the challenges I will face will be little in comparison. I am asking you, my family and my friends, to please help me support this cause. A donation per mile that I finish of this race. It can be pennies, or it can be dollars, every bit helps.
The Why Behind WQW
When service members are in the military, their mission and sense of purpose are clear, and their lives are structured to meet those objectives. Service members’ needs – basics like food and shelter, as well as emotional needs like connection and self-esteem – are met by the military so that they can focus completely on their mission.
But when service members suddenly take on the new title of “veteran”, their new mission may not be so clear, they have to fulfill these needs on their own – often for the first time in their lives.
They often do it alone. They may not have structure or purpose in their days, teammates to rely on, or even ready access to the most basic needs. Add in physical, moral, or psychological wounds, and the likelihood of struggle is even higher. Without a clear identity and purpose, it’s difficult to find a path forward.
Donation Terms
100% of all donation funds will be sent the Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation Guaranteed!
This fundraiser will primarily be based on Donation Per Mile Finished. Meaning that if a donator offers to donate $1 and I finish 100 miles of the race, the total donation amount will be $100. Awesome huh!
Total donation amounts will need to be collected within one week after finishing the race. The race is called the Badger 100 Mile and will start on July 29th at 6:00am and cutoff on July 30th at 6:00pm. Donations will be subject to collection by the following Sunday August 6th via Cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Check if needed.
I will personally reach out via text message or email after the race to inform all donators of qualified finished miles. Thank you so much for your support! Let’s grind.
